Managing ThinkBIOS in LDM
Use ThinkBIOS to remotely manage BIOS settings and supervisor passwords on supported devices.
To access this feature, go to Policy Management > ThinkBIOS management.
This feature is available only for licensed ThinkPad, ThinkCenter or ThinkStation devices.
Manage BIOS Password Tab
Use this tab to change the supervisor password for one or more devices or for device groups.
You can work from two views:
- Devices: Select one, multiple, or all devices.
- Groups: Select one multiple, or all groups.
Filtering options are the same in both views.
Change Password
- Select the device(s) or group(s)
- Click Change password.
- Enter the current password.
- Enter the new Supervisor Password.
- Re-enter the new password.
- Click Next.
- Review your changes and click Submit.
Password requirements
- At least 12 characters
- 1 uppercase character (A-Z)
- 1 lowercase character (a-z)
- 1 number (0-9)
- 1 special character
BIOS Settings Tab
The BIOS settings tab provides a centralized view of BIOS settings for supported Lenovo devices, listed by model and BIOS version.

To change BIOS Settings:
- Expand the device you want to update by BIOS version
- Select the device.
- Click Apply.
- Select the settings you want to change or select All. (Use the search box to filter settings.)
- Select Next.
- Slide corresponding toggle button(s).
- Select Next.
- Enter the Supervisor Password.
Note : To change in bulk, passwords must match for each device (see Manage BIOS Password). - Select Submit.
Using Filters
- Product Family: select ThinkCentre, ThinkPad, ThinkStation or All to filter devices.
- Search box: enter the name of a device or group.
